Default 1977 window side window rebuild

Hey everyone.

I just bought my first vette, always wanted one time and kids got in the way so at 40 i had to do it no matter what, its nothing fancy but its mine :yes nod:.

The PO had the car resprayed at some point by a hack needless to say there are some things i need to address. The forward grommet (bushing?) was not reinstalled on the passenger side window so it slides back and forth. I bought a rebuild kit but i can't find a diagram anywhere on how the grommets go together. Also the door gaps are bigger at top then the bottom, are the springs a good place to start?

Thanx

Default Hi and welcome again.

Open the door a few inches and lift at the rear, if the door can be lifted up check the hinge bushings.

For the regulator, most of the vendors have a "How to" here's one:

Thanks ill start there with the door. I did see the link from zip before the only problem is there are no pics of the front bushing, you have to stack and press the pieces together and they don't show a pic of that. If i had the old piece i could figure it out and i don't really want to take the other door apart if i don't have to.

Which bushing do you mean?
The rollers on the regulator?

Perfect that diagram will make it easier to explain. If you look at "view A" there is a "widow guide roller" ( i should have looked at the package first so you knew what i was talking about. sorry) that goes in that track. The roller has a treaded bolt coming off it. The way i see it from the rebuild kit i have to stack or press on plastic bushing before i slide it through the window then bolt on another lift channel bushing on the other side?

The roller on the left in your photo goes into the glass and the part on the far right goes over the stem.

The part in the middle #11 goes into the front hole in the glass and is held there by #12.
