The new pushrods came yesterday (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-1457900) and they are WAY nicer than the first set! Got them installed with the Comp full roller rockers and they all seem to fit really well. There are two pushrods - one on each side - that are very close to touching the heads at the top of the slot so I will have to keep an eye on that. Set the lash with the car running by slowly backing off until the rocker clattered and then slightly tighten until it stopped and added a half turn from there.
These oil much better than the last set. I originally thought it was a lifter issue, but after seeing how much these rockers were drenched in oil, I think it was the rods and rockers.
Now I have to get my timing figured out and get the power out of the build that I should be seeing. Either my distributer is off a tooth or so (most likely) or the balancer has slipped. At 16 degrees initial, the car doesn't run as well as it should and vacuum is at like 11/12. If I continue to 20 degrees, it starts to smooth out and run great and vacuum hits around 15. Something doesn't seem right.

How much longer are we going to be "off a tooth" on the distributor? This is an old wives tale which should have been tossed with the bath water. It just isn't possible with a standard dizzy!
You cannot be off a tooth! You can put the distributor in the engine with the rotor facing any direction of the compass and as long as the cap and wires are in the right positions, the engine will run perfectly, and you can set the timing perfectly! The only way "off a tooth" messes you up is if the distributor has to be in a certain position to clear a shroud, or manifold, or whatever. Otherwise, put it in wherever you want and adjust accordingly.
Sorry for the rant, I had a bad night.
Glad you(Jartanyon) got your crappy parts issue fixed up.

Sorry you had a bad night. The distributer can afford to be reinstalled a few teeth over so that it is not almost 90 degrees turned right now, but I know what you mean.
63 Mako - Lol on that link…I read that over the weekend which lead me to buy a new can!
The distro is all good. I actually installed new bushings on the original weights over the weekend (talk about a task finding bushings that would work with original weights) and I rebuilt it during the engine rebuild. The vacuum can was the original and pulled 24 degrees, but I could not find the info at what pressure. I put a stop on it half way with a vacuum gauge so that I could pull the remaining 12 with my old set up and had plenty of vacuum. I actually bought a new vacuum can two days ago anticipating the lower vacuum the new cam makes and I have to pick it up today from Napa. I got a VC1853 which starts at 5-7 and pulls 7.5 (15) at 11-12.5. This should work out very well.

Picked up the vacuum advance, but I remember reading that you have to check the part number because they are switched a lot of the time at Napa. The only problem is there is no literature to go off of. Here is a photo of the box and the can - I thought the can should be marked with AR23?? Their site shows a different number...
