So, this will be the 2nd time needing to replace the engine gaskets after developing a leak. The head gaskets seem to be letting coolant through allowing it into the oil, and leaking out of the engine.
What would be the best gasket set to use? I have a 68 with a 350 (69-010) block bored 0.60. THANKS!
I need it to be running good again as I'm now prepping to sell it. I finally got the bodywork done and re-painted back to original and it is lookin sweet!
No head gasket can cure warped heads. So you need to consider having the heads flat milled. The best IMO is the new Felpro 4.100 MLS I got mine from summit racing.
Did you also use sealant on the head bolts into the water jacket?

Thanks. I don't believe sealant was not put on the bolts. What type would be best? The block and heads were all done at a machine shop prior to re-build, so I'm confident that they are good surfaces.
I also have oil sitting on my intake bolts, as I know I didn't place sealant on those thus that issue as well.

You don't believe that sealant was not put on the bolts? I'd be lying if I didn't say that I can't not believe it's not untrue that this is not a little bit non-confusing.
Is there sealant on the bolts, or not?!?!
BTW, that's a sweeeeeet looking 'vette! Why are you selling it?

LOL, double negative!
I wasn't advised about sealant for head bolts, only intake bolts which wasn't done either...
Family of 4, changing priorities, life gets in the way of a "fun" car...
First rule of 'vette club: Don't let life get in the way of enjoying your 'vette.
Second rule of 'vette club: SERIOUSLY, DON'T LET LIFE GET IN THE WAY OF ENJOYING YOUR 'VETTE!!!!!!

LOL...yes
OK, so I pulled off the intake manifold....it appears that the leak is here at this point as the gasket was soaked between the ports. i'm thinking i should take this opportunity to replace the intake manifold with a correct one, as it currently has a torkerII edelbrock
i've seen a couple on ebay...just worried about the surface mating, as this may be the ultimate issue here...? how can i prevent this from happening again? this was the same issue as before (no signs of issues with cylinder head gaskets) the other benefit to a replacement would be to have a proper oil fill tube rather than having to fill through the valve cover!
