Actually (and correctly me if I'm wrong doorgunner), but they sat in the door. My brothers of the silk and I stood in the door preparing to jump from the aircraft while in fright, I mean flight

Yeah you standing in the door on a sub would be a very bad thing

I'll trust you on that one!

I never really grasped the concept of jumping out of a well-maintained aircraft!

If you had decent Pilots, they let you sit on a spare cockpit seat strapped down at the "door",...................if not......you stood there from before daylight until before daylight!

Of coruse.....errrr.....coarse......course. ...when things got exciting----one would naturally stand up

It was a bad thing to do everywhere. :-)

Since then though, getting a thrill comparable to standing in the door has been hard to find and I have looked. The closest I have been able to get is cars. Fast cars. This 69 Vette will be just what the doctor ordered for me only with AC this time.

Maybe that is why we are all here and doing such projects... Mine will not be a garage queen either.

It looks great now....

could you just repair any rust areas....

steam-clean it and put a new coat of quality rust-preventative paint on it?

The frame is in great shape. No rust at all. I did paint an epoxy paint on it.
