OK this may be an easy but im new to the whole carb thing, light ticking sound started on driver side of the motor a few weeks ago.
Just got done upgrading the water pump and fan, and while warming it up checking everything noticed the ticking is getting worse! Not sure if its a loose rocker or what but tips would be greatly helpful!
Tony, if you have headers, many times that ticking noise is a header gasket starting to blow or the bolts are loose. It's usually louder when cold.
If you have hydraulic lifters it may need an adjustment. It's usually louder when the motor is hot.

Thanks for the reply. I do have headers but its loud even on startup.
Just replaced header gaskets also with reusable ones so maybe ill check the bolts in the morning. Lifters I believe are the flat tappet not certain though. They were from the edelbrock rpm package I ordered.
double check you rocker arm preload.if all rocker arms feel loose ,you mite have a solid lifter set up .if most of you rockers feel snug you mite have a hydraulic cam .check U-tube ,or have a good mechanic check and set your rocker arms .you mite have bad spark plug boots.you can see them arc in the dark with the hood open.
Just a random thought, maybe a plug wire is shorting out onto the headers. Start the car up at night in the dark and look for a spark. Don't ask how I know.
Since you just changed the water pump and fan I would check to see if it's the fan hitting the shroud, or something similar related to what you just changed.
