You're right a 0.63 5 speed would be nice.
It's a big engine, put big parts on it, why leave power on the table. My AFR227cc headed 427ci with a 248/252 dur. cam makes power to 7000RPM's. It is a pleasure to drive at 1700rpm around town and know that I have the power under my foot whenever I desire to get on it. I have a .64 OD and I get 24mpg on the highway with 600 HP under the hood. Go big or go home

Cubes is cubes and it has the same displacement as a 427ci big block. Would you put 210cc heads on a 427ci big block. If your spending big bucks do it right. Why limit your RPM ? Build a engine that will spin to 7000RPM + and just rev it up to 6 grand if that's what you want to do.

His goal is a torque motor for the street that will never see 6000 and very rarely 5500 (peak horsepower). Durability, low and midrange power and functional FI are the goals. Why build and cam for 7000 RPM? Practically anything you add for upper RPM power and potential equally subtracts from bottom end performance. See post 6 and 9. The competition ported AFR 210 matches his intake manifold ports exactly and flow 318/335 @ .600 lift with better port velocity and standard valve spacing. Your AFR 227 eliminators not competition ported flow less, 312/229 @ .600 lift with lower port velocity. The heads are leaving nothing on the table and are a better match for his build specs, goals, operating range, intake port size, standard rocker configuration and bottom end power. Bigger is not always better.
