I am working on reinstalling my window trim and the thin trim piece that goes across the top of the windshield has a big gap at the top of each corner. It is more like the top corner pieces are too high but they line up perfectly to the screw holes. Also the side trim on each side of the windshield sits flush against the glass so I don't think that the windshield is sitting too low. Any Ideas?
Getting really frustrated and have also been messing with it so much scratch the paint on the trim and will now have to re paint the trim.
Getting this windshield trim is the next step that I need to do to be able to water/leak test the car and then reinstall the interior and then drive it. Its been a 2 year project and being held up by this......
Ok for some reason when I try to attach a photo it times out the web page. I will try to add a photo later.
Have you tried to remove the chrome parts that sit on top and clean up the area? I can see calking under the one piece which maybe holding it up and it looks like its bent on the other side of the screw.
If the chrome upper was misaligned when they installed a windshield then the black trim piece would have been attached misaligned.
I think you have to take those pieces off clean the area up well. Make sure they are straight and reinstall them.
I have some gaps too. Maybe in a few years I will do a frame off and take care of all the little stuff. I have never had the window out of, or apart on one of these. The gaps bug me too.
