My 1969 hasn't been aligned yet but it's currently sitting notably high with 245-60 radial T/A's and nearly fully assembled- everything but gas and the interior. The wheel gaps are like a 4x4 front and rear however my rear bolts are 6-1/4" long (stock?).
What I'm interested to know is what kind of tires everyone is running to get their stance and wheel gaps. Specifically what springs front/rear (single leaf, multi-leaf, F41, aftermarket etc.). Also very important is the rear spring bolt length you're using. Let me know if you've cut your stock front springs at all or any other type of mod to get your "look" right. Please post pics too as I'd love to see your stance.
My plan is to achieve a ride height that looks just "slightly" lower than stock for an F-70 show tire and some radials for go (maybe a spare set of 8" slicks too )
Also... what kind of white letter bias plys came stock with 1969's Polyglas GT Goodyears or Firestone Wideovals? Just can't do the red/white/blue line tires.
Original front coil springs/original 6" rear spring bolts......Nearly 4" fender lip clearance above front and rear tires...
Two coils removed from each front spring/8 & 1/2" bolts installed in rear suspension........
Note: The front fender settled to 2" above the tire/the rear fender settled to 2 & 1/2" above the tire (the rear tire extends 1 & 1/2" out of wheel-well, which prevented me from lowering the body more at the rear fenders.

Some do what you mentioned in your thread. in my case I cut my front springs and I will use 8" bolts to lower the rear slightly. I wish to keep a slight rake with the staggered wheel/tire combo. As you can see I do not have 15" wheels.
Wow... Some good looking cars. I'm pretty surprised tho at the discrepancy between ride heights with different "stock" setups. Mine looks a lot like Doorgunner's right now although I'm looking to get more of a CanadaGrant look. CG, your springs must be good and broken in to get such a nice ride height out of a stock setup.
I'm 29" in the front to the fender with stock BB springs and 31" in the back with with 6.5" bolts. Running 225-60-15 (shop tires) in the back and 245-60-15's in the front.

I might do the 8-1/2" bolts in the rear and take off a coil if the car doesn't settle down after some miles.

Yes....it's better to take one "turn" off each coil spring than to cut "TWO" many turns off! 8 & 1/2" bolts should get you right where you want to be in the rear though--a fast inexpensive modification!
