But, "1968-73 Custom Bubble Taillamp Lenses" for $24.99.
"Eckler's custom acrylic lenses are the same size and hole pattern as the 1968-73 factory lenses. Remove out the stock lenses and re-install the bubble lenses with the existing screws." http://www.ecklers.com/product.asp?p...dept%5Fid=1384
Sorry I said that backwards, by later I meant newer. I have the bubbles and only had to buy the lenses. Now if they had only designed the bubbles to hold the backup light in the middle with clear plastic and had another socket for the red brake lights that would be nice. I have though about try to find a clear or white plastic end so I could shave off the tip and get my backup lights back plus add the brake lights to the middle light's red area. Could be done but sounds like work. :U
You're right about that Paul. It's the "newer" Sharks that require the kit. I actually prefer the kit so that I don't have to go through the stress of cutting apart my original taillights, which I would never do by the way.
Just a last tip on the subject. The back-up light hole in the urethane bumper has to be enlarged somewhat to accept the tail/brake pot and socket. About a vertical cut of 3/8" one each side; half moon style. Not a major operation. Well behind the light and it never shows.
You're right Paul, you do have to make the hole a bit larger, but it's really no big deal. I had to and I think it was just a minor amount like 1/8 inch or something on one of the ends. As far as my 76, I had to buy the whole kit so I didn't tear up my original housings. Leos....I think you'll want to do the same. Can't wait to see them on your car!
Thanks for your reply. Much appreciated. I did the job three summers ago. Used an Xacto Knife. I am Bubba! I may have been a little off on how much I cut. I just cut to fit. And BTW, welcome to the Forum!
