Ignition problem
Guys, my 76 corvette is having a problem starting......it seems random too.
I'll turn the key sometimes, and nothing....no noise. Just a tick. I jiggle the key, or push the key into the ignition with a bit more force, and it'll usually start the car.
What part should I be looking at fixing/replacing?

If it's the starter, could be the solenoid is going (look there first) where it's kicking out the gear but not completing the circuit to spin the starer. Or the starter might have a "dead spot"
If the sound is in the column, there is a "rack" that is turned by the key cylinder and it pushes a rod which activated the switch, I wouldn't think you'd hear anything though..
