If any 82 owner can post or guide me to a link with a pic of the TB's on the engine with the air cleaner removed....(of course)
On my passenger side TB there is an open port on the left rear of the TB, which I don't remember if it is supposed to be capped or connected with a hose to another location. I did cap it, and the right rear ports on both TB's are also capped.
So any pics showing the proper way to cap or not to cap is appreciated.
Thanks.................................. .....Tom
It should be connected to the EGR solenoid. Mine had fallen off and car ran terribly until I reconnected it. Had knocked it off working on car.
thank you.....thank you.....both posts showed me exactly what I was looking for, and Larry82 was right on, my EGR hose was disconnected, it is connected now.......
That link from MelWff is great and will added to the "sticky" Tom
I am assuming that since the EGR was indeed disconnected on mine (for whatever reason) my mpg's were not quite where they used to be. I was down to 18.5 mpg and slightly higher on occassion. So when I hooked up the EGR line to the port, I noticed that this week mpg is now back up to 20.88 mpg during my two fill ups. I fill up after the 4th day and then top off after the 5th day so I am good for the following week. Both mpg's were exactly the same as stated above. So just about 21 mpg commute is not to bad for a CFI w/118,000 plus on it and it still runs strong. So I am assuming that the EGR hook-up does have something to do with the mpg, but then again I could be assuming wrong....
Guess I'll run it till it won't run anymore......
