Going to pull the engine from my 73. I have access to a typical 1 ton, 4 hole, folding hoist that I have used in the past to pull/install the engine from the side after removing a tire. This has always been a royal pita in my tiny garage.
Question: if one simply removes the front nose (first 7 inches or so) can you pull the engine from the front or is the car still too long? I don't actually have the hoist with me now so I can't measure at the moment.
Thanks,
AL
I pulled and replaced the engine from the front with just removing the hood on my 76.
My two ton simply wouldn't work. Not long enough. Side wasn't an option either, as I',m working in gravel. After pulling the radiator and the radiator support, the entire motor and trans came out with a home built A Frame.
wow you got some Nuts! ...I would not have lifted them together for that pull /weight,
on that frame setup. But hey it worked for you. is that red spot on the ground your blood,
or tranny fluid ! Necessity is the mother of invention !

Some 2x8's and a few long bolts
Awesome! Very creative.
I thought of spanning my lift with a piece of lumber to function as a winch.
