Anyone run into this before.
Pads on all four calipers of my car were set high so the entire pad did not contact the rotor. Check some older pads from another corvette and the pad is set lower on the plate.
The pad on the right is set higher than the one on the left.
YOu can see the ridge that was left from the pad sitting higher in the caliper and not contacting the entire pad to rotor.
Since there isn't any adjustment availible on a stock system, I would think this is a case of poor engineering or poor quality control. Those look like stock type pads which are pretty cheap to replace.
I'm wondering if those pads were made for your Corvette brake system? (maybe another GM brake pad set chosen wrong by the guy at "The Zone", or packaged wrong by the wholesaler.
Or, maybe the guy in China was using his metric gauge to set up his machine to English measurements....
