Default Where does this bracket go on 69?

Bought a new engine wire harness and front lamp harness from letric limited. In a small sticking point- have everything hooked up, but not sure where this bracket goes. My old wire didn't have one.

Additionally- my green wire is not fitting on the oil pressure for some reason. Any advice there?

I believe the bracket goes on the back of the alt to hold the wire up off the manifolds etc.

Your green temp sender wire has the correct end for the 1969 original style temp sender. The temp sender on your engine is the later style with the t connecter. Lectric limited sells the original style temp for 69's.

The bracket does mount on the alt. as shown above. Also note that your alt is clocked what looks like 180 degrees out. Not a hard change.
If you are not opposed to changing out the connector for the temp sender then a female spade connector will slide onto your existing sender. If you are going for NCRS correct, then change the sender.
Was the sender/gage combo in your car reading correctly before the wiring upgrade?

Water temp was reading accurately.

I assume I'd need to drain the coolant to change the sender out?
Oreilly's has one in stock- I don't NEED to get limited letric do i? (Guessing these things aren't faulty?)

Were you talking about my alt. being off 180 deg or Mooser's?

Hi,
I believe the proper 'clocking' of the alternator has to do with whether it's installed on a sb or bb, and bb with p/s.

There have been many people who have reported that with regular parts store sending units, that they do not read correctly. If you are going to change it I would suggest you go with the Lectric unit.
You will need to drain coolant to swap the sending unit. If you do, do not use any teflon tape on the threads. your alt is not clocked correctly. when correct, the 2 wire connection should be just about lined up with the upper adjustment bolt.

After looking again, yours looks to be 90 degrees out not 180.

I just saw Alans post. It appears the OP has a small block, and the 427 in the above pic still has the plug lined up with the adjustment bolt. That picture shows it better than mine does.

Great- thanks! I'll get the letric limited and just not have a sensor working for a couple weeks.

Hi,
Besides the continuing discussion of the 'clocking', there is also some discussion of the 2 bent tabs on the bracket…… whether both 'prongs' were originally bent so they would be 'outside' the case, or bent so that one would be 'outside' and one 'inside' (through an opening in the case).
There seems to be little consensus.
Regards,
Alan
