Top end Rebuild
About 12 months ago I did a top end rebuild on my 79 L48 auto Vette which at the time was stock
I used:
cast Vortec heads
Edlebrock RPM intake manifold
drop base air cleaner
Roller Rockers
New cam more for torque rather than high rpm horsepower
Edlebrock 600 carb
Higher stall torque converter
Double row Timing Chain
Dual exhaust system with Magna Flow mufflers
Retained standard exhaust manifolds
Had the radiator refurbished
After about 5,000 miles the motor is running great I did get it dyno tuned and it produced 268 hp
Prior to the rebuild My engine was a stock L48 with a stock exhaust ,it was so underpowered and overheated on the highway.
