Default Looking for help - Starter wire confusion

I put a ZZ4 in my 1981 Corvette. While removing the stock engine, I didn't pay particular attention to where the wires came from. Thinking they came from a wire harness that was removed. Regardless, I need some ideas from the professionals who can give me some good guidance.

Looking to hearing from you. thx

You need to be more specific. Your request for help is vague and with no photos of what you ave going on. Commenting further is pointless.

I DO KNOW that there is a 6 terminal connector at the rear of your passenger valve cover/firewall area....that GM installed another harness that is an extension....that goes to your starter. It was used for faster installation at the factory...BUT I can tell you this 6 terminal connector can be problematic. I have removed many of these connectors over the years due to poor connections and the plastic connectors melting. I solder and shrink wrap all of the connections after they were cleaned.

Do you have a factory service manual???

Sorry DUB you are correct. After re-reading my post today, it was very vague. What was I thinking...I wasn't. Anyhow, you did answer my biggest concern...the starting wire harness. Most all of the plastic connectors have melted. I have no problem fixing this as I'll likely replace it with a new connector and harness to the starter solenoid.

Thanks for your patience with me and for your reply.

No problem at all.

I can tell you that GM did not use this type of connector...that carries a heavy amp load...so if you are planning in keeping it factory. You will have to make sure that all terminals are CLEAN and will grab tight.

Also...for 'some customers' who want the factory look of this connector. I have spent time and soldered the terminals and then put the plastic connectors together and made it 'look' like factory...which it does...EXCEPT that the connector will never separate and thus...will never fail again.

I know some forum members that keep a supply of the terminals and connectors.
