Default cigarette lighter

On the original cigarette lighter on a 74 Vette (I'm non smoker )is there anyway to adjust the element to make the end hit a phone charger to work. Or just replace it with the unit that's works with charger....Thank you for any reply.

Funny you should query that!!!!!

I just yesterday on the way to a car show inserted my new cp charger into my cig lighter socket and it worked w/o any probs as in no adjustment was required!!!! I have an iphone 5C with an aftermarket charger and my vette is a 78.............

Good luck........mk's78 aka Mike

Yeah, your cigarette lighter should work a phone charger just fine the way it is. Tell us, if you push the cigarette lighter in, does it get hot?

That's how the DC appliance plugs were designed...to fit into any car's 12vdc cigarette lighter.

Are you sure you are getting power to it.
