Hello all,
I have a 74 l82 that was modified to a 383 stroker. I have no specs on the motor as thats how I purchased the car. I changed the plugs and removed r44t plugs, r45ts were shown for the car assumably for the original motor. The tips of the new plugs looked to be a few mm's longer, really not that much longer. I now know the "s" is extended tip. Should the additional length be a concern with clearance issues inside because of the modified engine?
Thanks for the input.
Plug tip length could be an issue in a motor with higher compression especially when using domed pistons. Without knowing your engine's specs, I would install the same type of plug that you removed, especially if the old plugs look good and the engine runs well.
You should have all kinds of clearance with those plugs unless tour engine is a radical compression....The T means tapered seat...no washer is needed. Also the gap is best at .035.....irregardless the ignition system your using
