I have a 73 w/AC. There is a resistor or appears to be one mounted on the evaporator case that has 3 push on lugs for it. I need to identify the proper name for this to order one. Internet search and forum search keeps bringing up the fan speed resistor mounted in or on top of the evaporator case. Thanks for the help.

IF this resistor is actually going INTO the case...and mounts on the TOP of the case with 2 screws...it is for the fan speed.
I do not know of a resistor that mounts ON the case....being exposed.
POST a photo if you can if what you have found does not match up.
The only other part I am aware of is the relay for your high speed fan.
It sounds like your describing the blower motor resistor, but I'm pretty sure the one for air conditioned cars has 4 terminals, not 3.
The top of the AC resistor, is diamond shaped and has 4 terminals, sort of in the shape of a "T". The non AC resistor has 3 terminals on the top of it, positioned in the shape of a 3 sided box.
The blower motor resistors sell for around $20-$25, depending on the type.
I think you are right in it being the blower motor resistor. Did GM not use a resistor that was also a type of fuse for the AC cars that plugged into an inline 3 prong plug, being basically disposable? It is black, rectangular and has 3 prongs. I think somewhere along the line this was mounted on the evap case rather than dangling on the harness.
After plowing through multiple catalogs I found out what it is I am trying to identify. It is called the AC thermal limiter fuse to protect A6 compressors with super heat function. Used on 72-73's from what Corvette Central shows.
