Can't remember where I read it. When you shut car off the tach jumps to 1,000 and when key is turned on it goes to zero. Is it the board on the back of the tach?

Are you asking if it is the circuit board on the back causing this? This was normal on older models with it setting at 1000 with switch off and dropping to zero when turned on. On edit: You know I haven't checked where the tach sets on the newer models but both tach and speedo go to the highest position and then fall back to zero upon the ignition being turned on. Now I will have to go and see. lol

Yea I thought it might be a bad circuit board that causes the needle to stay at 1,000 because when you turn the key on it goes back to zero. If it's normal it's more money saved. Thanks

Bad circuit board; tach at 15K and stays there, key on or off, or car running. Just changed mine out and it took about 15 min. once you have tach on the bench and tools gathered. Hardest part was accurate zero set.(Took the most time). 1K seems to be no power resting place.
