I actually used just there heads on the l48 when I did the top end, they were ok, but if I had it to do over I'd buy good heads such as afr eliminators or dart pro ones and Afrs are what i used on the 400". The fit and finish were fine with the rpms but the flow numbers sucked and so there top end kits use a larger camshaft to make the power which takes more compression then what edelbrock advertises, as we're the other two heads I mentioned use a smaller cam to make as much if not more power. Use the forums search function and you should come up with a few threads about them, most dissatisfied.

Imo heads are were power is made and shouldn't be skimp ed at. Edelbrock does have a CNC version that might flow good but there prices were comparible.
The best results from an engine buildup come from matching all the components so they complement each other.
The Edelbrock top end kits can provide the advertised power if they are matched with the correct compression ratio.
The kits take away the guess work of component selection.
Having said that, there are a lot of engine builders who know what components work well together and may provide better bang for the buck.
I am happy with the Edelbrock kit components in my build.
It did require a fair bit of time to dial in on the chassis dyno, but it achieved the claimed power levels.
