you should just be able to loosen the 2 screws that attach the switch to the trans, then just rotate the switch until they work correctly. I wound up having to enlarge the slots on the switch on my 79, and it took a lot of fiddling around, but I finally got them working correctly.

That's how I did it but, I was looking for a procedure I had read in the past. Thanks for your input.
