Default help on electrical
my alt puts out 12 volts untill i rev it up and then goes up to 27 volts and blows fuses any ideals or help thanks

sounds like your voltage regulator aint regulating..

swap out the alt.

i changed over to digital gauges and afraid to put them into car

So, you have changed out the alternator and have the exact same problem?
If so, look for a loose ground connection.

27 volts! That's a lot! Are you sure that reading is correct? I've run a couple of altenators
with NO voltage regulator in the circuit and the most I've ever gotten is around 16-17 volts.
I can't imagine how one could get 27 volts.

yes the readings correct i could not understand it either but its accurate :confused:
