Problem:
Parking Brake ON Warning Light and Hood Air Door Solenoid circuit not getting power on the TAN wire. IGNITION SWITCH: RUN position and accelerator pedal floored = no power at the hood solenoid. Parking Brake warning light has never came on since I bought the project.
Does anyone here by chance know where these components are located? It would save me much time and I would be very appreciative.
Thanks in advance.
OK!
Armed with the info, I pulled the parking brake console, with the intension of checking for power going to the seatbelt warning relay. There was none. Missing. I now know why I never saw a FASTEN SEAT BELT light, or a parking BRAKE light illuminated. Homie ripped it out perhaps because he couldn't figure out how to troubleshoot it.
The dumb *** also had the Driver's Side Automatic Window Switch apart and assembled back wrong. It always bothered me a little when I had to toggle that switch UP to lower the window, and DOWN to raise it. The switch housings are indexed you know, so they work properly, unless you take 'em apart and put 'em back together wrong.
So it wasn't an entire loss, as the window switch is now operating right. And I'm now prepared to do what might have to do to rewire the circuit Idiot ripped out. Just not now though: Prime cruzin' weather right now down here. It will be a long Winter project for me.
When you get done cruizin.. let me know, I have the emergency brake switch, and I probably have the seat belt warning relay.. it's not on the site, but I looked at inventory yesterday and it showed on on hand.. (I'd have to verify it)

Thank you very much Sir! The relay I can use. The Brake Switch; it's still in place, screwed on to the Parking Brake Handle housing. It sits there, all by itself, like a scalped pioneer after a massacre. Bubba could have at least removed it too, no?

Thanks again.

Bubba can be merciless for sure. Steve, let me take a look tomorrow and see if I have one. I've been buried in the shop with issues so I'm going to send myself an email to remind me.. lol

I knew that part looked familiar, it was on the site under NOS but listed as a TCS Relay. The part was the spark control relay for all 1970 cars the best I can tell. Nova, Chevelle, Camaro, and so on.
You might try to find a used one. I'd bet it also was used on passenger cars in 72-75 for the same.
Today I modified the application of the part to reflect the seat belt relay and make it find-able on the site. I do have it, but I'd be willing to bet you can find one for 1/3rd the price used and working.
