After owning my 1972 roadster for 35 years I have a sudden vacuum issue. Yesterday both my headlight doors and the wiper door failed to open. The vacuum at the manifold is 14 and at the large outlet on the check valve however the small side is showing nothing. I believe this is the issue but was hoping to get a second opinion. Since I opened the headlights manually is there a special trick to closing them?

You should be able to reach up under the headlight assembly (under the bumper) and pull on the linkage to release it. A knee action joint that over travels to lock up. On my 69, the linkage extends past the pivot point about 1 1/2" and there is a hole through the hub.
