my corvette shop...phase 2
i closed at noon yesterday and locked the door and worked on the shop til 6 pm...
i am an early riser...usually around 5 am...but i woke up at 4 this morning...
i know...its sunday...what can i tell ya...my body clock dosnt know what day it is!
anyway...i went to the shop at around 4:30 and worked on it till about noon...
hung some lights...put a neat sign on the wall...put stuff away etc...
still gotta build some stairs in the corner (where the tires are) they will go up over the office...ive got a pretty big storage area up there...the old ladder that was screwed to the wall wasnt cutting it...
its coming along but its got a ways to go still...the 2 post lift will go where the car is setting in the pix...
the car is up on jack stands cause im gettin ready for the journey to Carlisle in a few weeks...goin thru it pretty good trying to make sure we have no problems on the trip...probably will end up bein about 2500 miles all told...
plus im doin some cosmetic stuff too...i want it lookin as good as it can if you know what i mean... :yesnod:

I really like your Corvette insignia on the wall. I plan on putting one on my shop wall in the future.
To anybody who doesn't currently have a shop to work in. . . GET ONE! You will enjoy it more than ANY car or performance mod.
Years ago, I had $5000 in hand to go buy a project car. When I showed up, the car had already been sold (lucky me  ). I decided to use the money to have my first shop built next to my first home. It was a 24'x28' with a single 16'x8 roll up door. It turned out to be one of the best moves that I ever made. I thoughly enjoyed it and when I sold that home, the money spent on that building more than came back to me. I hope to never live anywhere without a shop again.
please dont think im tryin to show off...im pretty excited about it and i just wanted to share it with yall... :)
i know its not awesome compared to some but i (like many of you) have worked on my car in driveway too many times to count because i too did not have a garage...as a matter of fact, i dont even have a garage at all at the house!
so im pretty excited about it... :)
when your ready for one let me know...i can make them any size, any color.

Good luck on your drive to Carlisle! Here is a tip. Make a sign (after all, you are SIGNGUY) that says something like, "I DROVE all the way from Florida" and you will be a celebrity pick for sure!!
