Default Lt1 cam upgrade

I'm in the process of swapping a 94 lt1 into an 80 and wanted to know cam options.

For now I'm going to keep everything stock on the motor (except for 1.6rr and MSD box and 26# injectors for the cam, long tube headers) and leave the 3:08 inplace. Have a 700r4 with shiftkit 1800 stall.

I had the HOTCAM kit on another build but want more lobe - I don't want to add in a vacuum can.would like to use the gm846 cam(with matching springs) and not have to use a vacuum can? Or does anyone have any thoughts

Anyone know if a vacuum can is required for this cam Or any recommendations for a cam that has more lobe (with 1.6rr) then the HOTCAM?

Got it confused for the 847 which is somewhat nastier
You could probably get away with it for awhile with some converter
Pushing limits with a stock converter
Not sure youd even need a vac reservoir

Stock LT1 cam and 3.08 gear set is fine. I've done it using a 200-4r and it will smoke the tires until you lift the throttle.

Thanks for confriming. I'm going to purchase the gm846 with matching springs, I have 1.6rr that should be enough till I get the money for gears.

Consider looking at some of Advanced Inductions cams.
