well my clutch blew apart after 1100 miles the other day and my car is already jacked up because i just put my hooker sidepipes on!! So i figure I may as well pull the trans to put a new clutch in today and start my trans rebuild. I have a muncie m21 and i am not sure how to get it out. Before I had my vette i had a 68 camaro (sold it but miss it alot) with a M21 and i pulled that one myself and put it back in. The camaro had a cross member that you could completely unbolt and remove, but the corvette has one that is welded on. I see where you can unbolt the mount but the cross member is still in the way. Can anyone give me a step by step to get this thing out so I can put a new clutch in and rebuild the muncie. This thing needs to get back on the road so I can hear my sidepipes with the JCl baffels :chevy
Take off the shifter, diconnect the driveshaft, follow trw's tip and rotate the tranny. I didn't pull the yoke but I think it gives more space if you do. I did it on my back in the driveway with no room at all. I am having some bad flashbacks thinking about it.......
Re: Trans removal help.... Quick!! (tworottiedogs)
I know where you are comming from. I have bad memories of holding up my trans with one hand and trying to push it back with the other on my Camaro. Man I am about to start, wish me luck.... any last pointers.... do I take off all of the shifter assembley
