Default Muffler delete tail pipes

Thinking of pulling the Magnaflow mufflers and finding some muffler delete tailpipes to put in their place, with a "hockey stick" horizontal exit under the bumper as opposed to the 45 degree angle drop exit tips the stock mufflers have.

Anyone know where to get a "muffler delete" pipe for both sides? Searched hi and low, find them for Mustangs, Camaros, Firebirds, etc, but not for the late model C3 I have.

Lastly, how much louder is it really? I had no mufflers but a cat before I did the CC Magnaflow complete dual system, I thought it was very quiet, assuming the cat was muffling the exhaust.

Thanks.

The chambered exhaust systems do not have mufflers. Never seen parts sold separately for those systems. Any good muffler shop could bend up pipes for you. T

A Cat reduces the ear-piercing "Rap" very much.

I have true duals on my '34 350SBC carbed street truck with a mini cat under each header and a pair of chrome Harley Davidson 2" I.D. mufflers at the back bumpers-----deep/throaty/mellow side while idling and cruising.......hi=perf Vette sound at aggressive throttle!

No problems with Police in seven years

Mid-america has dual chambered and straight pipes - goes from stock headers to bumper.

I bought '78 dual chambered system form my 80. I using the stock headers (for now) didn't have any issues.

Having duals with no type of muffler system-cat or straight throughs like magna flow-will be very loud and, in my opinion, not sound very flattering. It will sound like a boat with an inboard V8 which generally have no mufflers. If I was going to run no mufflers, I think I would at least run 1 high flow cat on each bank to reduce the noise "harshness" or the chambered pipes. Forum member, Karol, has the magna flow system on his 78 L-82 4 speed on his slightly modified (cam only) L-82 and his car is very loud, especially at full throttle. I have 2,5 inch duals, Shorty headers and Monza Turbo Mufflers (not a chambered muffler but not quite straight through) and with my fairly stock L-82, it was moderately loud at WOT. Same exact system, with the newly rebuilt L-82 355 with roller cam, AFR heads, and 10.2:1 compression is now VERY loud at WOT-it sounds like a NASCAR stocker at WOT with the MUCH better flowing heads and much higher compression. Why? The new L-82 is flowing MUCH more air and producing somewhere north of 400+ Gross HP versus 275-280 Gross HP before the rebuild. Point is the motor will determine how loud the exhaust is more than you think.
