Default Intermittent Ignition Problem

On my 78, I have been having this issue for some time now and I have no idea what is wrong. My car runs great all day long. Then, I will be at a stop light and all of a sudden my tach will jump around at the engine starts missing. If I don't hold the brake and accelerate at the same time, the car will die. Any ideas on what may be causing this?

Usually a ignition module wil just quit until it cools down…but the tach jumping seems to indicate that exact thing. Is the tach going up and down…or only down with the loss of RPM??? Maybe the carb is loading the engine up with fuel ???

Lifter pumping down at idle with lower oil pressure??? Low battery voltage for the ignition caused by bad or corroded connections??? All possible
