Recently I installed a mild 383 built by an engine builder. I installed the top end on the motor and did the installation. For the most part the car runs ok but lacks power. Instead of pulling my hair out I would like to take it in to an expert to have it tuned. Here are the specifics.
350 block bored .040 over
Eagle stroker kit cast crank 3.75" stroke, rods and hypertutectic pistons
World product S/R torquer heads.
Comp Cams XE268H cam and lifters
1:5 rockers
Edelbrock performer RPM Manifold
Rochester Quadrajet Carburetor (stock carb)
Hooker side pipes with reverse flow inserts
2400 stall converter
3:90 posi
The car lacks power when accelerating but seems to have lots of low end power (the tires spin).
Can anyone recommend a tuner in the Old Bridge New Jersey area?
Call Mark at 732 501 5521. He's in Englishtown, near the track. He will get it running right. That combination should run very strong, capable of well into the 12s.
Tuning might get you some, but the heads your running aren't the best, better than the 882s that came on a lot of c3s, s/r stands for stock replacement. If you got some port work done or went with a higher flow head with the same cam you'd likely achieve the results your looking for. Good luck.
