I opened the gas cap on my 68 ans there was a lot of pressure build up in tank. Any idea?

your cap should be vented, either wrong cap or blocked vent

I was about to ask about this very subject. I have a 1970 and the stock gas cap was not vented. I was wondering if I could go to a vented cap and would this cause a fuel system issue if I did.

Hi BF,
The 70 tank and fuel system was designed to use the sealed cap too.
Not really any reason to change it.
Regards,
Alan
