I took the center console apart about a week ago to figure out if it was relay, switch, or motor--anyway need new driver window switch--order 1--wait a week--new switch came--go to put it in and :mad dummy forgot which way the switch's work. As you sit in the seat, is forward on the switch make the window go down or up?

P.S. I think there might be a lesson in here somewhere :bb

Let me clarify my position(sounds like a politician)
As I seat in the drivers seat and reach down with my right hand I push the switch forward towards the dash and the window goes up. Now I cannot attest to this being how it was installed at the factory because there is obvious evidence that Bubba was in the center console at some point in this cars past.

Re: Power Window Switch Operation?--1970 Dummy Forgot (1970 Dave)
Down is down. Up is up since your switch in the '70 is mounted at an angle. If it were horizontal then forward would be down, and back woulc be up. Unless we're talking about C4s then forward is up and back is down. That gets me every time. Anyways, on the underside of the center console there is a set screw thing which doesn't need to be removed. That's where the thing slides in. The screw holds in the other end so you really can't get them backwards. At least on my '70 that's the way it was. Which I only figured out after I went through the afforementioned logic trail. ;) ~Juliet

Juliet is correct. When sitting in the drivers seat, you push the switch forward to lower the window! If you want to raise the window, you pull back on the switch!! Thad :D
