Quadrajet numbers

As I read this, it was built on the 129th day of 1977 foe a Pontiac engine with auto transmission of Federal standards.

My plan is to use this carb on a 383 that I will build with 180 heads.

Question is...will this suffice following treatment by Lars?

Dirty but appears unmolested....Transmission will be automatic. Car is a'79.

ive been reading a lot on these lately, so heres my best guess...

doesnt the pontiac have a front feed? I think all the vettes have a side feed. might not matter but then again it might.

I think Lars is going to say you have a rebuild. the phillips heads are a tell tell of a comercial rebuild. might not be a good candidate.

I am just testing my own understanding with these statements. more knowledgable ones will confirm or deny.

Id also be curious if anyone else spots anything that notes a rebuild.

more photos would help i am sure.

The carb you have pictured is a commercially rebuilt carb for a Pontiac. It has been seriously screwed with, and is not a good candidate for rebuild or use on a Chevy. Discard it and find an original, unmolested Chevy passenger car carb.
