Default Build Sheets

Folks,

I sold a 1973 Dark Blue (Code 927) 454 4-spd Corvette with a black vinyl interior (code 400) to a guy in Northern VA about ten years ago. I still have the build sheet and would like to get it to the current owner. It was a California car with a VIN ending in 428349. I scanned a copy of the build sheet in as a .jpg file but am not sure if I can post it on this board.

Now for the request: I just bought (another) 1973 Corvette with a VIN ending in 429659. This car has factory air, a 4-spd and a 454 and is non-California. It is Orange with a Dark Saddle vinyl interior. I would like to get the build sheet and any documentation possible. I have an old USAA insurance card in the car from 1990 with the owner's name on it, but nothing else.

Any leads on how to do this kind of research?

Thanks,

Default Re: Build Sheets (Wardog)

I have had a lot of success tracking history on my corvettes. First i would look for extra build sheets on your car. They can possibly be found behind your tach, inside door panels, and uner carpets. Every corvette had up to 7 build sheets attached along the assembly line. Once you find the build sheet, you can track the original dealership by the dealer code on the top, and then trace the orignal owner using that states dept of revenue. I hope this helps. Let me know if I can help in any other way :chevy
