Ignition Cylinder Key Issues

For whatever reason my key will come out of the ignition in every position. Otherwise it locks and starts the car like it's supposed to. Is this normal operation or is my ignition cylinder bad?

This is a TT column in a 1969 coupe.

this is not normal, is it an original key? do you have more than one key and it does that with all of them?
