Finally finished my front end rebuild today by getting an alignment. After doing this my steering has ZERO slop in it :D :D :D and I no longer have that nasty clunking sound coming from the right front upper control arm. I just wanted to thank my sponsers, my family, my friends, but most of all I'd like to thank all the forum members who gave me tips on the whole process. I could have done it with out you but it would have take 3 times longer

It just feel good, doesn't it! My front end feels so tight/solid and tracks so straight I had thoughts at one point that I forget to grease the new fittings.
Ya, I got the specs but the sheet is in the car and its raining out so I don't dare take the tarp off of it (can't wait to get my new house with a garage...I miss my garage) my weatherstripping is shot. I know it is good though because I took my AIM and shop manuals with me and watched the guy do it. The shop personel are very cool and I know the owner. I also bought two new Goodyear Eagle GT2's 25560R15's for the rear. The boss(my wife) said I could only get 2 now then 2 later this year...she controls the budget and seeing as I am unemployed right now she was really nice in alowing me get the 2 now........What a good woman :yesnod: :yesnod:
I'll post the settings when I can.

These are the alignment specs on my 1979. As you will note, a number are outside of standard settings. The shop has more than 30 years of experience with Chevies. After my front-end re-build I asked them to align the car for straight and true tracking. And that is what I have. So I cannot complain despite those numbers. Tire wear is normal at 32psi (255-60R/15 BFG TA's). Note also that this alignment was done without the use of TA shims. I have never had tire wear problems and mine are well-secured by corrosion. That is a round-to-it project with the new parts in the basement but not the will to tackle it in my mind as all seems well. I welcome your comments.
