I have replaced both mounts last winter with the other work...engine out...
and now I see both mounts are torn...the driver's side--torque side is broken in two...new mount...and the pass side is partly torn....
question, this is a 355 ci rated around 425 some odd ft. lbs....now what in hell is causing this, and what can be done about it....what you guys with hi output engine do????
383 and larger....torque chain???
they were/are ballkamp mounts from NAPA...apparently US made...
i have the same problem with my little 405 ft lbs i just keep putting in new ones this time i got locking mounts and they have not broken yet i put them in in may i hope somebody knows

That is strange that your right motor mount gave out, usually it's just the left. I am thinking of trying poly on the left and keeping my locking rubber on the right to add strength but keep some of the vibration absorbing of the rubber. I ahve had no problems yet but when i upgrade to more hp and torque I do not want to have to replace it later.
While doing the ZZ4 swap I went with Energy Suspension polyurathane mounts. They are of the locking variety. I was able to snag them at Auto Zone right off the shelf. I think they were like $20 or so. I'm not driving the car yet so I can't comment on how well they hold up but I've heard ES has a good reputation.
