De-carbonising engine internals?
While I was figuring out where the oil was going I burned many quarts. This had to have carboned up my engine badly. Other than through the carb and in the tank additives, what are my alternatives? The local lube station has an engine cleaning process, is it any good? What would you advise? Thanks for any help!

In the old days, we used plain water. Get the engine running and warm. Get a cola sized bottle or can. LIGHTLY pour the water...."drizzling" it with the engine running. You'll need your other hand on the carb throttle lever to give it gas to keep it running while you're "dripping"/"pouring" the water in. White smoke will pour out of the exhaust pipes. That'll clean the carbon out. Do it several times. Why does this work and how was it discovered? A motor with a blown head gasket will get water into a cylinder. That cylinder is always squeaky clean when you pull the head, while the others are filthy. :) Chuck
