Default 1970 roof issue

I have a the convertible with the optional hardtop. I put the hardtop for the winter and when I drive the roof rattles in the back like it needs to be screwed down.

Is there any way to tighten roof?

Thanks

YES...the hard top gets secured with wing nuts and bolts in the corners of the hatch lid.

There should be a long threaded rod going through your latch in the hatch lid on each side and thus allowing you to use a large diameter washer and a wing nut and hand tighten it. Some people opt out for a hex nut and tighten it with a wrench....and I have also had some customers use the pointed guide pins like in the back of the convertible top rear bow and allow them to latch like the convertible top does when you secure it to the hatch lid. I prefer the long threaded rods and wing nuts.

Then there are the special bolts the allow the metal tabs on the hard top itself to get bolted to the front inner corners of the hatch lid.
