She's gone!
I had been thinking about it for awhile. I found I was using it less and less each year and that when I did drive it I was finding it less relaxing than I had in the past.
I also found myself frustrated that the few little things that needed to be fixed had to wait in line behind other more highly prioritized financial obligations (one kid in college, one on the way there soon).
A few weeks ago, a friend made a comment to me that he was considering buying a C-3 and he came and looked at the car this week and fell in love with it. We closed the deal and I dropped it off at his house today.
I have very mixed emotions about the sale. I really loved the car, and sunk a lot of money and sweat into it. At the same time it's nice to have the money available if we need it and also not have to worry about maintaining the car any longer.
Regardless, I wanted to let all of you know that with your guidance and collective knowledge I learned a great deal about the car and the hobby in general. I have truly enjoyed my time as a Corvette owner and as a forum member.
I will continue to lurk, but I don't anticipate posting until such time and I get back behind the wheel of another 'vette.
Until then, take care all and keep waving!

I know the feeling as I have one son who just graduated from college last year and a 10 year old at home. Makes the priorities different than when I was a single Corvette owner. Now the house, lawn, kids, you name it come first and then maybe a little time left for the car. Started restoring my 68 in 1995 and I still have maybe 2 years to go before it is back on the road again. Just not enough hours in the day.
I hope you don't lose the Corvette feeling and that in the future you will once again be behind the wheel of a Corvette with a little more time to enjoy it.
... and please keep posting if you can. There are lots of new arrivals daily.
Many newbies can guided down the right road by an experienced owner -
even a previous owner.
