Exhaust system?
OK I have a problem. My 1971 454 LS5 coupe is fitted with hooker headers with a 3" collector flange. The rest of the system needs replacing due to rust holes - it is a 2-1/4" pipes and standard muffler setup.
Should I fit a chambered system (if available for mating to headers) like the ones from MAD :D - they sound good, or would it be better to fit a hooker exhaust system and a pair of their aero chamber mufflers for easier fit.
Has anybody tried these combinations or have any experience of it.
I am in the UK so all parts will have to be shipped in from the states and these bits are heavy :(
Thanks in advance
Paul
Either system will be the same to install. It depends on what you like. I think the chambered are louder. I have heard that they resonate inside and are more restrictive than good mufflers.
At least, if you go with mufflers, you could change the sound by swapping mufflers.
Listen to some other BB's and see what you like.
