Push rod rubbing inside bore
Just installed aluminum heads and as I set up the valve adjustment I note that the intake pushrod on #6 cylinder is rubbing the bore and the wearplate. Can I hone the bore to provide more clearance. L-82 eng. 27K miles 5/16 pushrods.COMP Cam 1.6 rockersjust installed.

Competition products sells a special tool to do what you need.The tool is called a pushrod slotting tool.3 versions are also available at Summitracing.

try adjusting the guide plate first, it may help your guide issue too. 1.6 rockers can make it necessary to grind the slot a little, better check all of them.
