Transmission Replacement C3/82
I need to replace my 1982 transmission and was looking for recommendations? I have a new create engine about 350hp. I’m rebuilding from frame up so looking for a reliable rebuilder. I was thinking of Bowtie Transmission from California, has anyone has any dealings with them ? Or someone else?

I did just replace a 79 turbo 350 with a 700R4 from Bow Tie Overdrives. He'd no issues and customer service was great. They walked me through the few questions I had no problems. Give them a call very helpful.

I' d check the Numbers on Your Trans just to verify that's its the original to the car. If so then I would figure you probably have about the worst core to build a performance 700R4 that You can have. After all it was the first year, and they made a lot of changes up till 1990 or so, then they leveled off until the Computer controlled version was released. But that's not such a bad thing, back when these were new, core cost a premium, but today they are almost dime a dozen. If You were to buy all the updated parts and install them in your core it would cost ten fold what a newer core will. Want to keep that stock numbers matching trans, no problem just put the newer core trans parts in your body and no one will know the difference.
