Interior lights

Have a problem with the dome/ Interior light in my 79.
Already searched around a bit on my symptoms ,but have'nt found a match.
Everything works fine for the most part. When I close the doors, the delay keeps the light on for 30 secs or before it turns off. After about 15 mins, the light turns itself back on and stays. When I open and close the door again, dome light will shut off after 30 secs only to come back on 15 mins later.
Things I have already checked ,on both doors.
1)Open and close the door, turn on the ignition, and the light will go off. Also stays off as long as the ignition is on.Can open and close the doors with the ign. on and the lights turn on and off without the delay, and stay off.
2) Leave the doors closed, and turn the ignition off.The lights come back on after 15 minutes or so,and stay on permanently.Open the door and close it,the delay takes over and shuts the light off.15 minutes later they're back on.
3)The dimmer and dome light switch in the headlight switch also works fine.
Somehow somethings getting a signal after 15 mins. ,or so,after the delay has shut off, that a door has been opened. And remains open.
Delay box faulty ,or is my car haunted?

Remove your kick plates on both sides.
Remove BOTH door jamb switch and disconnect the any wiring from them.
KNOWING that these switches are what is adding and removing the GROUND signal to the delay timer...I have seen bad switches that act up.
When you have them disconnected....touch the white wire to the steel post and the interior dome lights should come on. MAKING ABSOLUTELY SURE that these wires are NOT TOUCHING ANYTHING STEEL...close the door or doors. The dome/interior lights should go off....and KNOWING that these wires are NOT making contact with anything steel.....IF the delay timer turns the lights back on...you would either have a bad delay timer ...OR....this control white wire to the delay is touching something steel in the harness somewhere.....which is when I would have my test wiring set-up to check this and wait....and check to see if the wire is getting a ground when I DISCONNECT the delay timer.
