Default 69 Wiper Door Relay Location?

Early 69. Just started running new vacuum lines and ran into a snag. I'm not sure where the Wiper Door Relay should be located. Appears the AIM is little help since it was revised and redrawn showing the Relay near the master cylinder. No holes there on the firewall.
It looks like it could have been mounted on the RH inner fender down near the washer fluid vessel. Does this sound correct? If anyone has a picture that would be great. Thanks, Rick

I've seen it mounted in different locations for the same year vehicle. Perhaps options such as Engine, A/C, Power Windows, (or others) may drive the change???

My 70 L46 has it located near the master cylinder. (It doesn't actually mount to the firewall.)
Others have it mounted on the RH inner fender as you described.

Just an FYI, when I do an image search in Google or Bing for 1969 L-46 Corvette, the majority of the pictures show the wiper door relay mounted near the master cylinder.

I believe some of the early '69s had the relay located down on the passenger inner fender (no idea when the cut off date might be) otherwise the '69 relay would be mounted as pictured above.

Early 69 wiper door relay was mounted on the passenger side inner fender apron. Did not move to the firewall until March 1969. This info from the NCRS TIM&JG.

Hi Rick,
The 7 th edition of the NCRS 68-69 TIM&JG indicates the valve was on the passenger's side inner apron through the "middle of production".
Do you see any holes for it there?
When was your car built?
Regards,
Alan

Here it is on a 71.
Looking forward and up through the opening for the side egg-crate grill.
I'm NOT sure just where it was on the apron in 69.

Here's the plate it mounts to in the wheel well. Again, 71, not sure about 69.

Depending on when in the year your 69 was built, the vacuum relay could be mounted in one of two places. It could be mounted on the right side inner fender, near the heater box, or to the left side firewall, by the master cylinder.

If I remember correctly, the right side location was used at the beginning of production, and the relay was later moved to the left side.

Thanks for the relies everybody. And thanks Alan for the pic. This car's tag is Sept 28, 1968. I did find a backup plate riveted to the inner fender down near the washer jar. That must be where the relay goes Thanks again, Rick
