Can a 68 C3 be lifted safely from the rear spring attach point?
I would like to lift the rear end up from the center instead of one
side at a time.
Can this be done With out braking something.
Been lifting my '72 that way for over 40 years, now, and haven't hurt anything. Just be careful and throw some jackstands under the frame when you get it to where you want it. Block the front wheels, too.

A small section of 4x4 placed on your jack pad works great. After a few times it will take the impression of the pad and it just fits perfectly. Its almost creepy the first few times you raise the car like this......it works so well you are just waiting for it to fall off. (It wont)
you have to be careful with the front so you dont push in the crossmember. You must use a heavy piece of wood/metal that stradles the full width of the crossmember front to back and applies the force to the front and rear edge not the center.

If you have the room between the rear exhaust, and can fit a jack under the springs, then it can be done. I use a low profile lift jack, with a small piece of wood to help distribute the loading points and this works well for me. Then I can place my jack stands on the corners.
For the front I use a wood strip to go front to back across the cross member so that I lift from the frame of the cross member, not from the center of the cross member. Then I can place my jacks under the front jacking points on the frame.
