SWEET !!!

P.S. You're not in the market for a tri-power setup for the '66 GTO, are you?

Congrats on the lift. I would love to have one. Maybe someday I'll get to have one too.

Awesome lift and garage setup. I'd love one, but my garage floor is blacktop and I'd have to rip it out and have concrete put in. By then I wouldn't be able to afford the lift. Thanks so much for your service.

Duane,
Instead of ripping out your whole garage floor, you might be able to rip out the appropriate size pad for the lift you select and pour a pad as suggested in this link:

http://www.mohawklifts.com/consumer/...eco_2-2010.pdf

Use these guidelines and get it OK'd by the mfg of the lift that you purchase. A lot cheaper than the whole floor of your garage. No shortcuts with concrete PSI, rebar and pad dimensions that are approved by your lift mfg. Safety first.

I have a scissor lift that works great. You can't walk under it but it does get the car a little over three feet in the air. And you can use the one I have on asphalt.

Calo69 between those 2 the GTO is faster however the 13 Grand Sport in the other garage will run off & leave them both in dust.
Duane you might want to look at a 4 post lift with what Patdown said.

I'd love to have a lift in my garage. That's a nice setup you've got there.

Cobrachuck,
I was thinking about a 4 post lift on my blacktop. It has 4" of binder and 1" topcoat. plus about 6" of packed crushed stone under all that. In the 25 years I've had the Vette parked on it, there are no tire marks where the car sits. I was also thinking of putting an 18" square of 1/4" plate steel under each post. I'd think that would more than sufficiently support the load. Any thoughts, guys?

Go for it, not aproffessional engineer, sure there are load calculations, but I used to set up scaffolding for masonry work up to about 5 stories on less base than that with no problems. Worst case if it sags dig four holes and pour concrete footings. Either way you got your lift. Good luck

Not an engineer but if your vette has not "sank" into it at all so far the extra weight of the 4 post lift under 18 inch square plates you should be fine. I had a 2 post lift now have a 4 post lift. Would not want to be without one now. You just get used to having one. Best investment ever

I like the idea of the 18" plates for support. The feet on the 4 post are good size 12x12", the lift guy had both sitting side by side & considered both, the 2 post was my choice.
4 post can be 115 volt.
