Can someone please tell me the correct size of the screws that hold down the grill portion of the wiper door assembly? The part number shown in the AIM is 9422425. It does not come up on the AMK website and I haven't bought a parts manual yet. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Hi S,
The screw for the wiper bay grill is very unusual.
It's a Fillister head screw with a very tall shoulder, and is finished with black oxide.
The size is 5/64" (#8) x 32 x 5/8". It has a slit cut into its tip, so to some degree it's self tapping, but it is a machine thread.
Regards,
Alan

It's one of the first screws to disappear from the exterior of 68-72 cars and is often replaced with all sorts of things.

Thanks Alan. I ordered a set from Corvette Central. The shipping costs more than the screws though.

This always annoys me. Something they can put in an envelope and mail for a dollar.
