Anybody have any helpful hints on replacing the turn signal cancel springs or should I just replace the whole assembly. I'm tired of driving around with the one turn signal flashing. If I replace the assembly will the harness fish through the column? Thanks
Installing the spring is fairly simple when you get down to the turn signal switch....and if you plan on replacing the switch entirely...you HAVE TO remove the wires form the connector so it can be fished down through the column.
If You do end up replacing the Stalk Assembly, use an 81 or 82 and You will get the Resume feature on the cruise control. No Wiring required, its plug and play.

If all you want to do is replace the cancelling springs, paper #1 should be sufficient.
I believe that additional springs can be purchased at most automotive stores.
Interesting, I had not heard about using a later turn signal lever with cruise control to allow the "resume" feature to be used on earlier Vettes. I assume that it works for 1978, 79, and 80.
It does not apply to the 1977 T&T column since the cruise feature was new that year and was part of the tilt lever. Also, the 1977 T&T column had the wash/wipe windshield wiper switch as part of the turn signal lever and pivot.
BTW, I installed cruise control on my 1976 Vette. I used the 1977 tilt lever with cruise to activate it.
